The cores of these targets withstand this thickness and, with the assumption of recreational bows up to 30 lbs, last 1-2 years (then the core can be repaired with an insert – description below) and it is an advantage that the material does not deteriorate as quickly as straw (snow or dust can fall on it even though it is not suitable for long-term exposure to water).
Undoubtedly, a major advantage of these targets is that they can be easily refurbished and thus extend their lifespan for several years, without the need to buy a large target (only very durable cores/inserts are purchased instead of a damaged core).
